Are you busy trying to do it all?
If you are, you are probably tying yourself up in knots and not doing any of it well. It’s exhausting, completely overwhelming and can leave you feel like you can’t get anything right.
I know, I’ve been there too. Trying to do it all, have it all and most of all be it all to everyone. It’s hard. Balancing it all is an illusion, something I believe is almost impossible to achieve and exhausting yourself trying is not going to get you any closer.
Your life is not meant to be about a perfect balancing act, because there is no such thing as perfect and you will be left feeling like it’s all too hard.
Life is not a ‘one size fits all’ situation and everyone has there own version of what it should look like but when you are blinded by guild, hiding your secret shame and in complete overwhelm it’s hard to know what that is.
Does that mean you should give up? No… but it does beg the question “What really matters?” Doing what you love, following your passion and living from a place of ‘happy’ is actually possible and this is what really matters. It’s about finding your own version of balance, I like to call it alignment.
Here’s some ways that may help you find your alignment.
1. Be present. The only moment you have is this one, be in it. Notice what’s around you, notice who you are with, listen to what they are saying and even notice your own breath. Right here, Right now, everything is okay.
2. Figure out what really matters and do more of that. I know that sounds simple, but it can be quite a task. Get help if you need it, but do this one. Your world could be turned upside down in a heart beat and knowing what really matters will help you cope and be grateful for what you have.
3. Engage your strengths and manage your weakness’. We can’t be good at everything and when you know what your good at, you should do more of that, it is probably something you love. On the other hand, when you know what your not good at, get help, hire someone, find a way around it, do it differently, but stop trying to push shit up hill. If it’s not your thing, it’s not your thing.
Begin by doing these three things and then repeat after me…
Balance is Bullshit.
